Mike Sanchez began his career in law Enforcement in 1995. In that time, before retiring from the Vidor Police Department in December of 2017, he served in many capacities. Prior to retiring he served as a reserve officer, patrol officer, deputy, Corporal, Sergeant, Lieutenant and now Chief of Police for the Vidor Independent School District Police Department.
In his tenure, Chief Sanchez has had many roles including Crisis Negotiator, Narcotics Investigator, Warrant Officer, Court Bailiff, Street Crimes Unit, Property Officer, Public Information Officer, Instructor, and Field Training Officer.
Currently, he oversees a department of 9 officers and has implemented new changes in the department. Many changes have been prioritized to include constantly improving procedures and making it a priority to safeguard our students, faculty, staff and community as the department looks to diminish potential threats to our schools.
