We are in the midst of cold and flu season in our area. It is often difficult to avoid contracting an illness during this time of the year. We hope that all of our students can stay healthy, but we realize that it can be difficult. Please consider some precautions that could assist with preventing illness and help your student remain in school.
Frequent hand washing can keep germs from being spread by touching.
Students can also prevent the spread of illness by covering their mouth when sneezing and coughing.
Our custodial staff will be taking extra care to keep soap dispensers full and will clean frequently touched items, such as door knobs, light switches, and hand rails.
VISD nurses will enforce the rule that students must be fever and diarrhea free for 24 hours. We appreciate students wanting to return to school as soon as possible but it is more important to be sure that they are without illness before returning.
The health and safety of our students is a priority at Vidor Independent School District. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us act proactively. Thank you for all of your support!
The administration, staff and faculty of the Vidor Independent School District are committed to ensuring that all VISD students have access to a quality education. It is our goal to enable our students to achieve their potential so that they may fully participate now and in the future in the social, economic and educational opportunities of this area, our State, and our Nation.
