Kori Floyd - VJHS Employee of the Month

Vidor Junior High names Kori Floyd as their April Employee of the Month. She is an 8th grade ELAR (English Language Arts Reading) teacher with five years of service.  Nominator Jamie Beckman says, "Mrs. Floyd has been an amazing help to me as a first-year teacher.  She truly cares about her students and listens to them when they need her.  I have seen her cry with students who were crying and laugh with those who needed a laugh.  Mrs. Floyd's heart is into her job and that is truly something I have grown to respect. If students need encouragement or a pep talk, she does not hesitate to pour into them and encourage them with their learning and their life skills. She always asks her students if they understand what she is teaching, and if they don't she will stay right where they are until, as a group, everyone understands.  She does this without frustration or impatience and her students are comfortable letting her know when they need help.  Mrs. Floyd has also done several dances for the students this year, as well as incentives to help out the community.  She has become Student Council sponsor this year, and has given it her all.  She has a heart for VJHS and loves being part of it.  She is not only an employee, but a huge asset to VJHS and VISD."
