Vidor ISD Employee of the Month
Verna Sonnier
Chrystal Dotson
Vidor Jr. High School
SWIS Aide
Vidor Junior High's Chrystal Dotson was recently named Employee of the Month for Vidor ISD for the month of April.  Chrystal is an aide in the SWIS (School Within a School) program at the junior high, helping students who have made bad choices overcome tough circumstances and work to achieve the best for themselves.  SWIS teacher Ed Patton says that Chrystal has super organizational abilities and makes the program function smoothly from day to day.  She obtains assignments from teachers, works with the students, and maintains a superb professional atmosphere.  Mrs. Dotson is currently working on her teacher certification through Lamar University.  Mrs. Dotson was nominated by assistant principal Jeff Leger, who was on hand with Dr. Debra Jordan and counselor Diane Dotson to congratulate Chrystal at Monday evening's school board meeting.

Micki Loar
Vidor High School's Employee of the Month, Micki Loar, was nominated by principal Jay Killgo.  He says she is persistent and dependable in doing her job in the office.  She has a good attitude and shows great diligence in completing jobs.  Mr. Killgo feels that Loar remains positive despite sometimes having to deal with a mountain of tedious work.  "Vidor High School runs more smoothly because of the work she does," he says.
Pam Sanford
Rose Moseley
Rose Moseley is AIM Center High School's Employee of the Month.  Rose is the computer lab aide but is also heavily relied upon for extra duties.  She often covers classroom duties when a substitute is not available, relieves teachers to take breaks, and helps cover the front office without complaint.  She runs the computers and the print shop, working on the machines and handling print orders.  "She has a great deal of knowledge but does not want to take credit for her part," says AIM principal Janet Bradley.
Meredith Head
Cheryl Dupuy
Vidor Middle School principal Nancy Smith nominated Cheryl Dupuy for VMS's Employee of the Month.  Cheryl was nominated because "she is Vidor Middle School's cheerleader!" says Smith.  Her laughter, enthusiasm, humor and positive attitude impact students and staff.  She doesn't seem to have the word "no" in her vocabulary.  She volunteers for things from coordinating the school's Relay for Life team to piloting technology programs.  She offers help students and colleagues without a second thought and can often be heard saying, "Whatever you need me to do..."  Cheryl possesses all the qualities an excellent teacher should have --- student-specific instruction, classroom management, leadership, and above all, a devotion to see every student reach the fullest possible potential.

Susie Horn
Tammy Jackson
Oak Forest Elementary's Employee of the Month is Tammy Jackson.  Nominated by principal Jami Poteet and Michelle Chesser, diagnostician, Jackson has served 10 years at Oak Forest, where she leads Life Skills.  Outside of the classroom, she is involved as a volunteer with the Autism Society of Southeast Texas and is on her church's nursing home ministry and serves as youth coordinator.  She teaches Sunday School and leads Acteens.  She works with the Challenge Baseball League in Nederland for the physically and mentally challenged children.  She takes one student to play at the game and takes him to eat at a restaurant afterward.... a treat he'd never had before except on a school field trip.
Almaguer
Regina Almaguer
Pine Forest Elementary's Employee of the Month is Regina Almaguer.  Principal Roxanne Manuel nominated this paraprofessional because she is cheerful, loving, kind and always busy.  Regina is there early every morning to help her special needs students off the bus and into the cafeteria.  She listens to their concerns and works to be sure each one has a happy and successful day.  She volunteers to help during breakfast even when it is not her turn for duty, and is always ready to go where she is needed to help students during activities or programs.  "She gives Pine Forest Elementary students her heart," says Manuel.
Lewis
Karyn Lewis
Karyn Lewis is Vidor Elementary's Employee of the Month.  She is a Kindergarten aide who is always going beyond what is expected of her, approaching life with a smile and a friendly attitude.  She tries to include everyone in activities, and makes the teachers and students feel wanted.  Even while her husband was very ill this past month, she managed to come to work and do a great job, making sure the hallways look good and the children are happy.
